Welcome to Castelnuovo Val di Cecina, a peaceful small village with a breathtaking thousand-year-old old "borgo" on top of a majestic mountain surrounded by ancient chestnut tree forests. Castelnuovo lies between the Chianti and the Maremma, and is in the centre of the culturally most fascinating locations of Tuscany; important archaeological sites and breathtaking beaches such as the Gulf of Baratti, Rimigliano, Punta Ala and Castiglione della Pescaia.

Our house lies directly next to the town hall. From the large terrace one has a wonderful view over the Pavone valley and the two hills that are typical of our landscape, the Carlina and the Cornata. The house has a high terrace and a vast garden in which centre lies a gigantic old cedar, after which our house is named.

The bedroom lies in the quietest part of the house with a window leading to the garden, which includes a secretive small grotta surrounded by hortensia flowers. The furniture stems from the 19th century. The bedroom is very spacious and one can easily set up another bed. There is a separate entrance and a bathroom that includes a full size bathtub that rests on the classic lion's feet. The path to the garden leads through a small office. During the summer you can have your breakfast on the terrace. Otherwise, you can also have your breakfast in the living room, a lovingly decorated, comfortable room with furniture from the early 20th Century, and a marble fire place in which a fire is lit on cold evenings. (Of course we also have central heating.)

If you are interested, Fabrizia the houseowner will give painting lessons or can show you how to prepare and cook classic Italian dishes and depending on the season you can collect fruit and cook jams.

We are there to make suggestions for day trips into the area and will inform you about celebrations and events and will happily show you the Borgo and the little treasures that can be found in Castelnuovo.

We Offer
A double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and an additional bed is available. The garden and terrace are available for you to relax. Small pets are welcome guests.
Credit cards and checks are not accepted.

Information and Reservation
The Bed and Breakfast is closed during February and November.
Price: Double bedroom (2 people) with breakfast Euro 60.00 plus Breakfast. During the Easter holidays, Christmas and Ferragosto, (around August 15th) the price is Euro 70.00.
Extra Bed: Euro 10.00. Children under 2 years stay for free.
